- The Nyuni Area PSA replaces the existing PSA and has been initialled by the Tanzanian Authorities.
- Aminex has drilled three wells on the Nyuni PSA, two of which encountered commercial hydrocarbons
- Kiliwani North-1, the most successful exploration well in Tanzania since the 1980s, tested gas at 40 mmcfd & established contingent gas resources in place of 45 BCF (Pmean basis).
- Nyuni-1, drilled in 2004 and tagging Jurassic source rocks at 4,000 metres, encountered a gas interval in Aptian-Albian sands, since calculated to contain 233 BCF contingent gas resources in place (Pmean basis).
- New seismic acquisition and recent reprocessing of older data reveal prospective resources of 2.548 TCF gas from several adjacent prospects.
